Freelancers and small businesses owners through out the world who use the famous VOIP IM tool Skype were in for a rude shock today as they figured out that skype doesn’t let them login

even if provided it with the right user name and password, there were no error messages and for people who manage to login to the VOIP software after continuous attempts, all they can see is the grey skype icon with its trade mark arrows rolling inside nonstop.

The last such incident happened way back in 2007 because of an update that Microsoft released which led to an abnormal number of skype restarts, the issue lasted for two long days and the then partner of skype Ebay suffered huge losses because of it.

The latest response from skype regarding the issue was “Our engineers and site operations team are working non-stop to get things back to normal-thanks for your continued patience”, the truth is,business owners, freelancers and common people through out the world are totally frustrated as skype has become a part of their life style these days. The cause for the issue is still unknown and it is already 4 hours since skype worked normally for many of them.

The root cause of the outage may have been from the Blogrunner windows users, a web blog reported. The first information about the skype outage came from people in Frankfurt, Germany as they saw their favorite  VOIP phone go down without a notice for continuous 2 days. Even though there are strong signs of the issue being fixed as soon as possible, skype will never be the same for small business owners and people around the world and there is no doubt that people have already started search for the best and reliable skype alternate.
